Sponsoring a Book:
Your donation to the Friends will allow the library to purchase a new book in your name, or in the name of someone you love or want to honor. Choose from an age level or subject area. A book plate will be placed in the book to commemorate your gift. It’s a wonderful way to honor a birthday, anniversary, special occasion, or provide a memorial.

In an effort to
place fewer plastic products into our landfills,
the Friends have joined a partnership with
Recycle-First/AAA Environmental, Inc.
The program provides mail-in bags
that are prepaid and pre-addressed
for your convenience.
RecycleFirst pays the Essex Public Library
for every good-condition cartridge that is recovered.
We have received $141.81 so far.

National Library Week Bookfair and
Fundraiser in April, netted the Friends $701 for library support.
Thanks to Middletown Barnes and Noble staff, especially Beth O’Day, Community Liason, for logistical and publicity support.
Thanks also to parents for driving, and to readers Ted Tsiongas, Amanda and Kevin Cline, Brittany Rothstein, Sonia and Dominic Payer, and Julienne Hughes. The children read excerpts from their favorite books to enthusiastic supporters.
