An Updated Note from the Friends about the 2020 Book Sale

The scheduled 2020 Friends of Tiverton Libraries Annual Book Sale, usually held in June, has been canceled due to COVID 19 health concerns and unfortunately will not be postponed to a later date in 2020. The book sale is the Friends’ largest fundraiser, supporting much of the library’s programming including funds for speakers, workshops, entertainers, museum passes, and equipment/supplies for activities for all ages. We are not giving up on raising funds for future programming, but our priority at this time is the health and safety of volunteers, book donors, library staff and shoppers.

The Friends organization regrets the cancellation of the book sale on many levels. We enjoy working with the dozens of volunteers who help out, appreciate handling nice books generously donated by the community, and love recycling books and passing them on at a very low cost so others can enjoy them.  We are very hopeful that we can bring the Book Sale back in 2021.  Meantime, be safe and take care.
