Community Service Opportunity for Teens at the Tiverton Public Library
November is Warrior Care Month. In honor of veterans and actively serving individuals, the Tiverton Public Library is providing a “grab-and-go” community service opportunity for students in Grades 7 through 12.
During the month of November, outside the Teen Room, craft kits will be made available for students to make Quick Release Paracord Bracelets for Operation Gratitude. Each kit contains all the instructions and materials to make 3 Quick Release Paracord Bracelets. Students will receive 1 hour of community service for every 3 bracelets that they make and return to the library. Students may pick up 1 kit at a time but may take subsequent kits upon the return of each completed kit.
Materials will be provided throughout the month while supplies last. Students in Grades 6 through 12 who do not wish to earn volunteer credit, are not yet eligible to accrue volunteer hours at school, or do not wish to donate the completed bracelets to Operation Gratitude may still take a craft kit to make and keep.
