In celebration of International Games Week — an initiative of the American Libraries Association to “reconnect communities through their libraries around the educational, recreational, and social value of all types of games“ — the Tiverton Library welcomes all ages to join us for the first meeting of our Retro Game Club. Tuesday, November 6th, 6pm in the Learning Center.
Do you love gaming? Want to play and learn about the groundbreaking games that started it all? Then this is an event for you!
Join our Technology Librarian, Patrick, for a look into the past generations of video games. We’ll have original Sega and Nintendo hardware from the 80s & 90s, as well as some newer editions to play. There will be several stations set up in a round-robin style, allowing you to hop from one activity to the next and try your hand at variety of classic games.
Afterward, be sure to browse our wide selection of Xbox and PlayStation games available to borrow, as well as our collection of board and tabletop games patrons can enjoy inside the library. Game on!
Registration is recommended but not required. Register online at tivertonlibrary.org or contact Patrick at 401-625-6796 ext. 8 for more information.
