Joyce Derenas’ breakout novel, The Long Shot: a French Canadian Saga, is an epic survival adventure of pioneering men in the gold fields of Dawson. Based on the true lives of Joyce’s grandfather and his brothers, this story tells of two brothers who trekked 4,000 miles across the Canadian wilderness. Their dream – a glimpse of the fabled Yukon gold which could change their lives forever. Joyce will speak about her novel, reading a bit as she goes.
